Padua, February 28, 2025 – After last year’s success, the international event dedicated to medical innovation and well-being returns for its second edition, analyzing health in its broadest sense: the World Health Forum Veneto 2025 is scheduled from Thursday, March 13 to Saturday, March 15 at Padova Congress. Over 60 Italian and international speakers will gather to discuss the future of healthcare with a multidisciplinary and highly technological approach. For the second consecutive year, Padua will become the capital of international debate on health and prevention.
One of this year’s novelties is the steering committee: the WHFV 2025 is led by a prestigious Scientific Committee chaired by Giorgio Palù, Emeritus Professor at the University of Padua and President of the Veneto Tissue Bank Foundation ETS: "The topics covered by WHFV over the three days of seminars are multiple and highly relevant. Modern medicine developments are based on biomedical sciences, basic and clinical sciences, together with technology, which has evolved in recent times, first with biotechnology and now with the targeted use of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence," highlights Palù. "Today, we can sequence the genome in a couple of hours, whereas it used to take years. This helps us create increasingly targeted therapies. Added to this are scientific discoveries that offer us various opportunities. The congress aims not only to present innovation-related results but also to foster a strong debate on our country's role in pharmaceutical research. This means investing in new business realities, which Veneto needs: technological and scientific innovation combined with new industrial development. The goal is to leverage these advancements to bring tangible benefits to our hospitals and patients. Health is not just about treatment but also about ensuring a safe environment," concludes the professor.
"With this second edition," explains Antonio Santocono, President of the Padua Chamber of Commerce, "the World Health Forum Veneto project – thanks also to the agreement signed last December and the establishment of the Scientific Committee – has evolved significantly: it is now not only a globally relevant event for health innovation but also a platform for exchanging projects, experiences, and best practices. A think tank where the region's main institutions join forces to strengthen Padua and Veneto's brand as a global hub for healthcare research and congress events. The Padua Chamber of Commerce aims to play a driving role in this endeavor. To make this project, which has a significant impact on our region, a reality, we have made a substantial investment and are acting as an implementing entity, working in synergy with the Veneto Region and Venicepromex.”
"Research and innovation play a fundamental role in public health and form the foundation of community well-being," states Gilberto Muraro, President of Fondazione Cariparo. "Of the €65 million that Fondazione Cariparo has allocated for philanthropic activities in 2025, €43 million will be dedicated to the areas of Knowledge Development and Quality of Life, of which health is an integral part. This area, in particular, aims at the overall well-being of individuals by considering all aspects – social, environmental, and health – that can improve the quality of life from a medical and psycho-physical perspective, following an integrated One Health approach. This approach is based on the recognition that human health, animal health, and ecosystem health are inextricably linked. We have therefore chosen to support this initiative again, not only due to the encouraging success of the first edition but also because the organizers have selected Padua as the Forum's permanent venue. The City of Saint Anthony is renowned for its excellence in the medical and scientific fields and, thanks to its university, it combines a rich cultural tradition with a strong commitment to innovation, making it the ideal location to host this prestigious international event dedicated to the present and future of health sciences.”
